Rules And Regulations

Conduct And General Regulations:

  1. Please observe normal rules of etiquette and speech on the ice and throughout Club facilities.
  2. Do not sit or lay on the ice. Get up as quickly as possible after falling. Laying in the path of other skaters is dangerous to everyone
  3. Do not congregate in groups on the ice, thereby interfering with the ice space of others.
  4. Skaters must clear the ice surface once the Zamboni doors are opened, as this indicates the end of the session.
  5. Sitting or climbing on the boards in the arena is not permitted.
  6. Eating, chewing gum, smoking, or drinking (with the exception of drinking water) is not permitted on the ice.
  7. Pushing, shoving, throwing snow, damaging the ice surface by kicking or stomping will not be tolerated.
  8. Skaters and parents are expected to keep the lobby and washrooms neat and tidy at all times. Litter must be deposited in the appropriate containers.
  9. Parents are requested not to speak to the coaches while lessons are in progress.
  10. The “right of way” goes first to the skater in the harness, then to the soloist, then to the skater in a lesson. Other skaters must avoid undue interference with the skater who has the “right of way”. The skater having the “right of way” must also remember to keep an alert eye open.
  11. Solo music will be played in the order as designated in the Music Book, to ensure fairness to all skaters.
  12. Buy-ons will have their solo music added to the end of the rotation, and shall be played after all regular session solos have been played, and not before.
  13. Solo music may be played twice per session, time permitting. If a skater refuses his/her solo music, it will be marked in the Music Book, moved to the end of the list and played after the others on the session, including buy-ons.
  14. Coaches may request solo music up to twice per session, per skater, during a lesson only.
  15. No freeskating (jumps or spins) will be allowed on Dance sessions.
  16. All skaters are expected to take part in the group Enhancement/Stroking lessons, if it is included in their session package.
  17. If there is space available, skaters are permitted to buy-on a session for which they qualify. All skaters who are buying-on must sign the Buy-on Book with complete information, and make their payment before stepping on the ice. There will be no advance booking or purchasing of buy-ons.
  18. Sessions that are missed cannot be made up, exchanged, or traded.
  19. Please direct any questions or concerns to the Board of Directors of the CSC in writing.
